History

Siefert Associates, LLC was founded in June of 2000 by Vincent Siefert. At that time he was working out of an extra bedroom in his home and with his dog by his side. Since then, Siefert Associates, LLC has grown from a one-person operation to a team of 35-plus working out of two office locations - Watertown, CT and White Plains NY. Siefert has quickly become the professional engineering firm of choice in the New York City metropolitan area.

We are defined by our Core Values of Honesty, Integrity and Work Life Balance and our network of clients is comprised of peers who share these same values. We are extremely proud of our client relationships, and led by an understanding that our success depends on their success.

Construction Engineering

Siefert Associates, LLC takes great pride in clearly defining our specialty facet of Civil Engineering. Construction Engineering is the process of determining and designing the most efficient and creative means and methods used to execute large-scale construction projects. The high quality working drawings, supporting calculations, and advanced modeling that we produce are tailored to each project’s schedule and budget, unique site conditions, client’s preferences, and most importantly, safe field operations.

Vincent Siefert, PE – President & CEO
Vince founded Siefert Associates in 2000 after working 13 years for contractors. This experience gave him a unique understanding and insight into the construction industry. He achieved the rank of General Superintendent, often managing over 100 people, through which he honed his leadership, project management, and construction engineering skills. Working with people and projects is his passion. He keenly understands the importance of finishing projects on time and listening to and understanding client needs. It is of utmost importance to the Siefert team to establish relationships that inspire confidence and mutual trust. Vince started Siefert Associates as a sole proprietor, working out of his house, and has grown the firm to over 35 employees with locations in Connecticut and New York. When the company began, Siefert Associates provided services primarily in the New York City area. Over the past 21 years, the company has expanded its work to include New England, Mid-Atlantic states, and the Midwest, with major projects in Michigan, Florida, and Canada.  At the beginning of his career, Vince worked with construction and engineering firms such as Moretrench America, Walsh Construction (Div. of Guy F. Atkinson), Kiewit Eastern, George A. Tomasso Construction, and Zieman Engineering. His early years were spent in building construction and later progressed to heavy highway civil construction work. This path helped Vince develop the expertise to lead a company that provides creative, high-quality construction engineering services for large-scale infrastructure projects. Vince and his wife Eva are the parents of four wonderful, accomplished daughters and four grandchildren, who all live near their home in Connecticut. Vince is an active person who loves the great outdoors. He spends his free time boating, mountain biking, skiing, motorcycling, fishing, listening to live music, and practicing yoga and meditation. Scott Halsey, PE – Executive Vice President, COO
Scott joined Siefert in 2020 after 26 years in the transportation infrastructure industry. Scott is an accomplished construction engineer who also brings extensive management and industry experience having worked for some of the top engineering and construction firms in our industry. Prior to joining Siefert Associates, he worked for Hardesty and Hanover, Zieman Engineering, Kiewit Construction, and HNTB.  As COO, Scott has management responsibility over a number of the critical departments of the company including: Operations, Business Development and Marketing, Business/Accounting, and Human Resources. He also provides executive support to significant proposals and complex projects. Scott is licensed in NY and has his Master's Degree in Structural Engineering from NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Scott is a lifelong New Yorker who grew up on Long Island, spent two decades living in NYC, and now resides in Westchester County with his partner Amy and their two young boys, Jack and Colin. He is an avid golfer, dog lover, and NY sports fan (Knicks, Giants, Yankees, and Rangers). Andrew Ritter, PE – Senior Vice President

Andrew Ritter, PE – Senior Vice President
At a young age, Andrew loved creating and building. Both interest and capability grew through the years, and a decision was made to pursue a profession in construction. He landed at Lehigh University where he completed a five-year dual degree program, earning a BA in Architecture and a BS in Civil Engineering with a structural focus. Andrew’s career in construction engineering began with six years at Zieman Engineering, where he provided solutions to contractors working on complex infrastructure projects. His work included designing temporary supports and bracing, jacking systems, demolition and erection plans, mobile crane installations, and custom rigging equipment. He shifted gears and spent the next five years in the building design and construction field. His work included designing foundations, framing systems, and structural reinforcements for custom homes and light commercial buildings. In 2010, Andrew returned to construction engineering at Siefert Associates. Clients turn to him for creative solutions based on his comprehensive engineering knowledge, analytical competence, attention to detail, and hands-on experience. His ability to visualize complex structures allows him to help project teams identify challenges prior to construction. He serves as Senior Vice President, team lead and project manager, and is licensed in CT, MA and NY. Andrew resides in the southwest corner of MA in a home that he designed and built. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, all forms of exercise and the outdoors, and many hobbies.
